INGREDIENTS
For the Apple Filling
- 3 medium apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 pint Talenti Caramel Cookie Crunch or Madagascan Vanilla Bean Gelato
- Chopped candied walnuts (optional)
For the Buttery Crumble Topping:
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
INSTRUCTIONS
- First, let’s tackle the crumble. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add the cold butter cubes, then use your fingers or a pastry cutter to work them into the flour mixture until it forms coarse crumbs.
- Spread the crumble evenly over the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes (stirring once halfway through) until golden brown and crisp. Set aside to cool slightly.
- While the crumble bakes, melt 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Stir occasionally and cook for 6–8 minutes, until the apples are soft and caramelized but still hold their shape.
- Assemble the dessert cups by dividing the warm apple filling evenly among four small serving cups. Spoon a generous layer of crumble topping over each.
- Top each cup with a scoop of Talenti Gelato.
- Sprinkle with candied walnuts for an extra sweet crunch. Serve immediately.
